The insured interest includes the property interests of the Insurant (the Insured) that are consistent with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and are associated with additional or unforeseen expenses and losses borne by the Insurant/Insured as a result of:

  • complete loss (missing) of or damage to the baggage during the travel period when the responsibility for the safety of the baggage during its transportation was within responsibilities of the carrier;
  • travel accident insurance;
  • the inability to travel within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan due to external reasons not associated with the Insurant/Insured’s will expression;
  • flight delays;
  • reissuance of lost documents, in particular the identity card or passport, in the Insurance Territory.

The Insurant: A person that has drawn up an Insurance Policy with the Insurer. The Insurant can be the Insured at the same time.

The Insured: A person for which the insurance is made.

Description of insured events:

Section 1: Baggage loss insurance

An actual, sudden, unforeseen, and unintentional event as a result of which a complete loss of or damage to the Insured’s baggage happens where such loss is confirmed by corresponding documents.

The baggage insurance terms are applicable to all baggage of the Insured except for the following property:

  • money, jewelry, and securities;
  • ingots of precious metals, loose precious and semi-precious stones;
  • antique and unique items, artworks and collectibles (collections of any homogeneous objects (stamps, calendars, badges, plants, etc.) of either scientific, historical, or artistic interest, or collected for amateur purposes);
  • travel documents, passports, and any documents, slides, photographs, and film copies;
  • manuscripts, plans, diagrams, drawings, models, and business documents;
  • any types of prosthetic appliances;
  • contact lenses;
  • wrist and pocket watches;
  • animals, plants, and seeds;

Section 2: Insurance during the flight

  1. 1. death of the Insured as a result of an accident during the Insurance term;
  2. 2. injury of the Insured as a result of an accident during the Insurance term.

An accident means a sudden and short-time event that occurs during the insurance term against the person’s will and as a result of an external mechanical, electrical, chemical, or thermal impact on the body of the Insured which results in harm to the health or fatality.

Insured amount: 500,000 (five hundred thousand) KZT for domestic flights within Kazakhstan and up to 1,000,000 (one million) tenge for international flights.

Section 3: Insurance against forced refusal to travel

An event which results in expenses associated with cancellation by the Insurant/Insured of their trip away from the place of their permanent residence. Such events include the following events occurring after the validity date of the Insurance Policy and confirmed by the documents issued by competent authorities:

  • death or hospitalization of the Insured;
  • high or medium severity injury to the Insured as a result of an accident, but only if there are medical contraindications to making the planned trip;
  • court proceedings within the insurance coverage term where the Insured participates according to the court ruling made after the validity date of the Insurance Policy;
  • military conscription of the Insured after the validity date of the Insurance Policy;
  • failure to obtain a visa by the Insured (visa denied) provided that all necessary documents were timely submitted according to the requirements of the destination country consulate;
  • delay in obtaining a visa or obtaining a visa within the terms different from those requested by the Insured provided that all necessary documents were timely submitted according to the requirements of the destination country consulate.

  • requirements of authorities (immigration office, anti-terrorism agency, customs service, border control service, etc.);
  • mechanical or technical damage to aircraft or any other circumstances occurring at the airline’s fault and preventing performance of the flight.

The limit for this risk corresponds to the documented expenses actually incurred during the delay period and within the established insurance amount, for each full hour of delay in the commencement of transportation after the first 2 hours of delay, where an incomplete hour is rounded down (1–29 minutes) or up (30–59 minutes) to a full hour.
